From its primary strong hold base in Calgary – Alberta, Canada, Westjet Airlines developed into a formidable competitor to Star Alliance founding member Air Canada. While Westjet Airlines lacks a fulsome lounge network, an expansive frequent flier program and a large airline alliance, it offers home town charm and strong service levels. We’d get an opportunity to try out their short haul service after an international connection today. Review: Westjet Airlines B737-6,… Read More

In the realm of the few airlines carriers that fly from North America to the island communist nation of Cuba, our flight back home was on the Canadian carrier Westjet Airlines. The Westjet Elevation Lounge is Westjet Airlines first entry into the business lounge space. As an outlier airline not in any one international airline alliance such as Star Alliance, One World or Skyteam, Westjet has often forged its own path. The Westjet Elevation Lounge continues on that path with a better than expected lounge space, paired with excellent food and beverage offerings.
