Review: Lufthansa First Class Lounge – Terminal 2 Satellite, Munich, Germany I was up and out the door at 6 AM today. The Nespresso coffee machine at the Aloft Munich somehow dumped water all over the shelving when I attempted to work it. As a result, I didn’t get any food or drink on the way out of the room. Despite the platinum breakfast coupons in hand, I didn’t bother with the… Read More

Review: DB Bahn ICE First Class, Hanover Hbf – Munich Hbf We left the hotel and drove the Audi back to the garage near the train station. The garage was two blocks away. We parked the car without any issue and rolled our suitcases back to the train station. There was a soccer game on today and the Strastboug Christmas market (terrorism) shooting had just occurred 5 days ago. As a result,… Read More

Review: British Airways “The Concorde Room”, London Heathrow Terminal 5, United Kingdom We arrived at London Heathrow Gate 340. As I got off the plane, we followed the purple connections path. It is always a maze at Heathrow and I doubt I will ever get the opportunity to fully know it’s design secrets. The transfer over from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 occurred on the semi-secure side. We bussed ourselves over where,… Read More

Review: British Airways First Class, Boeing 747-400, Vancouver – London The flight boarding was announced in the lounge about 10 minutes after the time printed on the card. We headed down and arrived to the gate and arrived as they were boarding group 2. Each of our printed boarding cards were stamped with Door 1 / Door 2. Once we were on the jet bridge, I bid good bye to MrsWT73 who… Read More

Review: Alaska Airlines First Class Embraer 175, Portland – Seattle Despite using Global Entry, we were stamped in with an almost comical US Customs and Border Protection Stamp. I am assuming this stands for Portland Oregon Port of Entry (“POO”)? With no time to waste, after we cleared security, we headed from Concourse D all the way across the airport to Concourse A. We stopped at the wonderful Capers Café, where we… Read More

Review: Alaska Airlines First Class Boeing 737-800, San Jose del Cabo – Portland There was no special reason other than confirmed First Class upgrade availability at time of purchase for routing the return through Portland versus Seattle. We headed down to Gate 4 which was an apron gate. Either Alaska got the last of the draw, or they didn’t bother to pay for a jet bridge like Delta, United or Southwest. Alaska… Read More

At the time of booking, Alaska had three seasonal flights a day from Seattle to San Jose del Cabo. There was lots of upgrade space available (U fare class) at the time of our booking, and we were able to secure a First Class Seat thanks to MVP Gold Guest upgrades, without much difficulty. We arrived to the airport at about 4:50 AM and located the TSA Pre-Check security screening. The screening… Read More
