We were originally scheduled to fly from Male, Maldives to New Delhi, India on an Air India Airbus 320 in regional business class via Bangalore. At about fourteen days before the flight, we were hit with a schedule change cancellation. Our ticket was booked as an Aeroplan Business Class Award, and they only offered existing available reward space to chose from. If we wanted to keep the same date of travel, we… Read More

There are many ways to get to the Maldives. Typically, from our home in North America, the typical routes are through the Middle East on Turkish, Emirates or Etihad. Thanks to some available award availability, we were lucky to get some award space on Singapore Airlines departing from Singapore Changi International Airport on their Airbus 330-3 business class product. While it wasn’t the most up to date business class offering, it was… Read More

In order to depart Vietnam, we were fortunate enough to find some reward availability on Singapore Airlines Business Class. Singapore Airlines award availability is tough to come by and I’ve generally found the greatest success is on regional flights of less than four hours within Asia. Singapore Airlines typically uses their Airbus 330-3 product for these flights. As a result, this review showcases our experience on our short flight between Ho Chi… Read More

Our connecting flight from South Korea to Vietnam had us on an Asiana Airlines Airbus 321 narrow body. International air traffic in Asia has set wide body jets as the gold standard for international travel between countries, unlike in Europe and parts of North America where this function is fulfilled almost exclusively with narrow body jets. How would our experience be flying a narrow body jet around Asia? Stay tuned to find… Read More

It’s not every day that you get to visit an International Arrivals Lounge. They are few and far between these days as airlines look to save on every dollar on expenses. On our ANA International Business Class trip across the Pacific Ocean to Japan, we had the opportunity to visit the ANA Arrivals Lounge at the Tokyo Narita International Airport in Terminal One. Review: All Nippon Airways (ANA) Arrivals Lounge, Tokyo Narita,… Read More

The airport at London Heathrow offers among the greatest quantity of different lounges in the world. Thanks to four separate terminals in Terminals numbered One through Five and an airport that is always in different stages of innovation and rebuild, there is always something new to experience at London Heathrow. Today’s lounge experience was brought to us by Singapore Airlines Silver Kris Lounge; their furthest outpost of a lounge in the Singapore… Read More

We had a welcomed, but brief stop at the Swiss Business Lounge in Concourse D at the Zurich International Airport. The lounge is located in the non Shenghen terminal, and it is used to serve flights to the United Kingdom, like the one we were on today. We had another pleasant stay experience with Swiss who generally offer excellent lounges. This post is one chapter on our trip to South Africa, a… Read More

Thanks to time zone placement, there isn’t anywhere better in the whole world than the continent of Europe for a well placed Business Class Arrivals Lounge. As a result of many intercontinental flights arriving in the morning, airlines are well poised to offer space to refresh; take a shower or take a breakfast before heading into town. We had an opportunity to take in one of the world’s best Arrival Lounges by… Read More

Air Canada offers a fulsome lounge network across eleven different Canadian Cities. With Canada being such a broad country, it’s admirable that they take care of their customers given that their flights are in much smaller capacity than our neighbours to the south. On a visit to the Prairies, I stopped by the local Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge which has to be among the smallest in the overall system. If you… Read More

After a week in Spain seeing Madrid, Salamanca and Barcelona, it was time for our onward journey back home to Canada. This trip would have us connecting Spain – Germany – United States then Canada with a short stopover in Germany (for a pretzel). The Puerta de Alcalá VIP Lounge turned out to be a great prelude to our Shengen flight with Lufthansa. This post is one chapter in our Around the… Read More
