Before departing on the Alaskan Railroad Aurora Winter Train Anchorage – Fairbanks, we needed a night in the Anchorage downtown central business district. The Alyeska Ski Resort offers a luxury experience at The Hotel Alyeska in Girdwood, Alaska. The recently upgraded hotel provides ski-in/ski-out access and contemporary Alaska style. However, service inconsistency and a mysterious resort fee dampened the overall experience. The resort caters to skiing enthusiasts with convenient lift schedules and activities.
With an early morning arrival into Anchorage Alaska, we decided to stay the night before setting off to further explore the Turnagain arm and Girdwood Alaska. With a whole host of Marriott Bonvoy options, we ended up at the Aloft Anchorage as a result of a great room rate. Before an early morning flight departing from Bellingham International Airport, we needed a place to stay. After evaluating several options, we ended up at the Springhill Suites Bellingham.
