Given it’s small size, Iqaluit has a small urban inner city center. Beyond the city limits, there are some beautiful parks and trails. I had access to a vehicle and was able to get out beyond the city limits after seeing what a Iqaluit’s “city center” had to offer. My visit to Iqaluit led me to the Apex Trail, a 5-kilometer coastal hike to the historic Hudson Bay buildings. Despite some boggy sections, the trail offers stunning tundra views and is easily accessible from town. Waterproof boots are essential. Overall, it’s a fantastic way to explore the area’s natural beauty.
